Abstract:
The novel “At The Cross Points Of The Parallels” follows the destiny of two generations of the Soviet immigrants who had left for the west during so called “thaw” period of the 1960s and in the 1990s of the last century.
“How to live further?” that was the question millions of Russians tried to solve after the USSR ceased to exist. Mrs Nastasya Karelsky, due to lucky circumstances, not only managed to survive the “mutinous” times but emerged as a successful business lady. Yet the years spent in to immigration were full of personal distress and grave disillusion in the praised western democracy and the way back to Russia was hard and even dangerous to her and her family.
