Abstract:
The extremely negative demographic changes in the population structure of Bulgaria have been described for the last decades and this negative trend will continue in the future according to forecasts, especially concerning the workforce. Protection of the social health and working capacity of the population is the first national priority; the key role in this belongs to the General Practitioners (GPs) and Occupational Health Services (OHS). The links between them nowadays are extremely weak, partly because of the minimized legal authority of the Occupational Medicine. Sports Occupational Medicine can create effective and acceptable to employers and employees physical activity programs in order to realize the strategic goal of the society: efficiency of the health promotion.
